Holiday Market: Elk Run Vineyards

We had two great wineries at our Thanksgiving Market -- Elk Run Vineyards and Cygnus Wine Cellars -- what an amazing treat to have such a great variety of high-quality, locally produced wines in one Market! We're very please to have two wineries at our Holiday Market as well -- both long-term favorites: Elk Run and Running Hare.

Elk Run Vineyards, one of the top wineries on the East Coast, combines modern research and technology with traditions and practices of old world wine making to produce extremely fine wines with character, structure, balance, and gorgeous color.

Bob and Susan Cecil will bring some of their most popular wines to Cheverly this weekend -- from dry Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon  and Malbec, to slightly sweet Annapolis Sunset and Riesling, to sweet Sweet Katherine, Vin de Just Glace, Lord Baltimore Maryland Port and Sangria. You're sure to find a wine suitable for any occasion, be it a formal holiday meal or casual hangout with friends and family. And, of course, great wines are welcome. thoughtful gifts!
Make sure to visit the Elk Run Vineyards table at our Holiday Market this weekend. The Cecils will be happy to help you find the perfect wine for any -- and  every -- occasion and taste.

Holiday Market: GiGi's Quilts

Gisela Lombardo makes really lovely quilted bibs, placemats, potholders, table runners, bags and more, in addition to sweet knit baby booties. Her fabric combinations are lovely and the craftsmanship is terrific. These would make great presents for almost anyone on your "nice" list -- from the newest babies in your world to young couples still outfitting their homes to teachers to aunts, grandparents and in-laws who deserve something really special this holiday season.

Visit Gisela this Saturday at Holiday Market and find perfect, thoughtful gifts for the people you love!

Holiday Market: Cakes by Ruthann (UPATED)

We're big, big fans of the delectable baked goods at Cakes by Ruthann. The gingerbread, the coconut cookies, the rum cake. The Rum Cake. Sorry, I got sidetracked by the memory of that delicious treat!

This Saturday, Cakes by Ruthann will have great treats with a Jamaican twist for you and gifts for your favorite people.
Black rum cakes, rum balls, and chocolate candy popsicles that are great for stocking stuffers. Rum cakes are a great gift to buy now and store away until Christmas -- the longer they sit, the better they get!

And if you get a chance, make sure to try the ginger drink -- sweet, spicy and very refreshing! Stop by and visit Nicola and Ruthann at Holiday Market this Saturday!

We just got this email from Nicola -- it all sounds so good that we have to share it with you!

Hello:
Special Holiday edition by Cakes By Ruthann are:Our cake pops are delicious moist cake covered in delectable chocolate.Perfect for stocking stuffers are holiday themed chocolate candy Popsicles and Poinsettia pens for $1 each.Try a glass of the Jamaican Sorrel  which is a refreshing beverage made from the red hibiscus sabdariffa flower that is drank during the Christmas holiday in the islands. It has a slight tartness  and consistency like cranberry juice and a mild flowery taste and flavored with a bit of ginger and allspice. This beverage goes perfectly when paired with the Jamaican Black rum cake/fruit cake. The Black rum cake/Jamaican fruit cake is not your typical fruit cake. The fruits are soaked for months in rum and wine and then pureed and baked to perfection.

At Last...Holiday Market Is Here!

We can hardly believe that we're already into the second week of December...what a year it's been! We end Cheverly Community Market's season with our Annual Holiday Market on Saturday, December 10, from 9:00am to 1:00pm, in the Cheverly Community Center. With over 30 vendors selling wonderful locally produced food, wine, and gifts, as well as entertainment, t's sure to be a highlight of the season. We're excited, and hope that you are, too!

This week, we'll highlight each of our Holiday Market vendors, but we need your help in spreading the word! Please make sure to put your yard signs out one final time this year, and invite your friends and neighbors to join you for a cup of Ladies of Charity Common Ground Coffee and a Cheverly Breadbasket pastry this Saturday morning while you shop locally.

And, as always, if you can spare some time to help with setup or cleanup, we're very appreciative. Like so many of the best things in Cheverly, we rely on volunteers to make the Market run smoothly. We hope you'll consider lending a hand. If you can help, please email us. We'll get you to the right people!

See you this Saturday at the Market!
