Holiday Market: The Divine Cafe

We're thrilled to welcome another wonderful new vendor to Cheverly Community Market: Baltimore's The Divine Cafe.
The Divine Cafe is a home based mother-daughter collaboration of Lorna and Tara Taylor. They bake a great assortment of decadent pies and pastries that will satisfy your sweet tooth during the holidays. Lorna elevates baking standards by providing her experience of over 25 years of producing great culinary creations and Tara brings a creative perspective in farmer's market presentation with her experience in small scale event planning. The combination of this dynamic duo's expertise adds up to  sweet, perfectly made pies. We can't wait to visit with the Taylors on December 14.

Holiday Market Pre-orders: Waltz Family Farm

What a great treat Waltz Family Farm has in store for your holiday table! Waltz Family Farm will take pre-orders for Holiday Hams. With a limited supply, so pre-orders are best, so please email Laurie or call 301-714-0584 right away to reserve yours. These hams (most weighing 7.5 lbs-9.5 lbs.) are cured with a “sweet smoke” flavor, nitrate free, and really good. Always wanting to ensure that their meats are of the highest quality, Laurie and Jacob recently cooked one for dinner, and lunch, and dinner, and lunch.....hee hee! And if you're looking for great recipes, Laurie has come up with some for leftovers that even kids like!

Waltz Family Farm also has CUSTOM BUTCHERED BEEF to order by the quarter or half side. You will be getting prime cuts from their steers, which are raised free-range and fed quality grains, hay and pasture. These meats are lean and tasty, aged four weeks for extra flavor and tenderness. $4.85 lb hanging weight....price includes custom butchering, vacuum sealing and flash frozen. Limited availability. Ready for your freezers early January.

We were so thankful to Gaylord Clark and Two Oceans Seafood/Carriage House Farms for offering heritage turkeys and fresh oysters at our Thanksgiving Market -- what great treats!

We're thrilled to tell you that Gaylord will again offer pre-ordering of oysters for our Holiday Market: both shucked pints at $19.95/ pint and whole shell for half shell consumption at $12.00/dozen. Please email your order by the Friday, December 6 ordering deadline.
Gaylord also brings delicious salmon, smoked salmon, mahi mahi, halibut, ahi, scallops, chesapeake rockfish, and cod for wonderful fish, chicken, gorgeous farm-fresh eggs, and other items from their farm in Stevenson, Maryland. Their smoked salmon and special holiday items would be a very thoughtful gift for your favorite seafood lover!

It's cookie season! This year, why not let an expert baker handle some of the cookie-making load? Order delicious, old-fashioned cakey cookies from Tasha's Cookies & Treats. Pre-order delicious cake-like cookies in a great variety of flavors -- there really is something for everyone. Of course, they'd make a lovely hostess gift, a delicious treat for travelers, and a perfect addition to any holiday gift basket.

Make it a Maryland Christmas with beautiful local Christmas trees and celebrate local!

This year, we are again offering beautiful trees from Mayne’s Farm in Middletown, Maryland. We'll have a selection of fragrant traditional Douglas Firs, ranging from 6' to 8'. Proceeds benefit Cheverly Community Market and help us to prepare for our next season. We're proud to bring these trees to Cheverly and thank Megan Daly for helping us with this effort!

Pre-order or reserve online via EventBrite. Pre-ordering and prepayment ensure that a tree will be ready for you any time during our Holiday Market on December 14 from 8am to noon. OR you can reserve a tree, which will allow you to pick up a tree from 8am to 11am on December 14 and pay for it at that time (cash, credit card, or check payable to Cheverly Community Market). Please note that your pre-paid credit card order includes a small handling fee to offset costs and support Cheverly Community Market's ongoing mission.

The last day to order trees is Friday, December 6. Any non-prepaid trees not picked up by 11am on December 14 are put up for general sale, first-come first-served.

Please make sure to print out and bring your receipt with you to Holiday Market on Saturday, December 14, at the Cheverly Community Center.
