Deadline Extended!

This gorgeous autumn weather has us thinking about the holidays and getting excited for all the wonderful things ahead as we close out the year...especially our annual Thanksgiving and Holiday Markets. And since we're in such a good mood, we've decided to extend the deadline for vendor applications by 11 days. That's right -- the deadline has been extended to Friday, October 26. If you've had friends or family tell you that you should sell the amazing things you make, here's your opportunity!

Do you make wonderful treats for your friends at the holidays? Do you preserve produce over the summer and give it as very welcome gifts? Do you make jewelry? Pottery? Glass? Soap? Knit hats? Make clothes? Are you a great photographer? Do you make great prints? Has anyone ever said "You should sell this!" to you? Consider selling your wares at two special annual events: our Thanksgiving & Holiday Markets!

Our special seasonal markets are open to local (within a 100-mile radius of Cheverly)
craftspeople, artisans, and food producers. We are looking for crafts and handmade items that will be juried by the Market. Arts and crafts must be handcrafted by the vendor, be original and exhibit a high level of quality and design.

Thanksgiving Market Saturday, November 17, 9am-1pm
Holiday MarketSaturday, December 8, 9am-1pm

Get the application and all the details here.

Remember, applications are due on October 26, so get to work!

Beautiful things. Stunning people.

In sifting through the photos from Saturday's Market, it was amazing to see how often the subjects of the photos -- whether fruits, vegetables, breads, flowers, or people -- resembled works of art. Want to see for yourself? Visit our flickr page: over 8,700 photos celebrating our five years. It was a simply gorgeous day, and we thank all of you for sharing it with us.

Thanks for celebrating with us!

We had an amazing morning and hope you did, too! We kept adding names to our VERY long list of volunteers...and we'll continue to add more in the coming weeks...thanks to all of you who pitch in to make Cheverly Community Market such a gem! We also need to send a big thank you to Little Big Boss for sharing their very first performance with us -- a great start for the band and we're eager to hear more!

Congratulations to our raffle winner this week: Deanna Moran! There's still one last week to win a $25 certificate, so give it a go at our next Market, then get ready to bid on lovely baskets full of Market goodies at our Thanksgiving and Holiday Markets!

We tasted some wonderful things this morning -- Jerk Chicken Sandwiches, glorious apples...yum! We're excited to have some special treats for you in the works for our final regular Market of the season, as well as for our special Markets, so keep watching to blog for the latest news! In the meantime, we'll be publishing photos, recipes and more.

Thank you for spending your morning with us!

Gorgeous morning for a Market!

Come on over to the Community Center -- great food, the premiere performance of Little Big Boss and our birthday celebration!

A Very Special Thank You

Over the past five years, we've been fortunate to have an amazing group of dedicated volunteers. Some have been with us from the very start, others have been with us here and there. No matter how long our volunteers have been involved, one thing is clear: Cheverly Community Market could not run without their efforts! Please join the Board of Cheverly Community Market in thanking each and every one of these amazing people at the Market tomorrow. They're the reason we are able to bring the Market to life every two weeks, May through October, as well as our special Markets and other special events.

We hope we included everyone -- as you can see, there are a lot of names here! If there's someone we missed, please let us know!
