At Holiday Market: Benny's Fruit Stand/Rebert Farm

Well, we're at the end of the local growing season and our farmers are preparing for the winter months ahead. They're already thinking about what you'll be eating ext summer, but let's enjoy the produce of the final harvest of the season now. At Holiday Market, Benny's Fruit Stand/Rebert Farm will bring us gorgeous apples: Pink Lady, Fuji, Granny Smith, Stayman, and Golden Delicious. They'll also have sweet potatoes, white potatoes, winter squash, onions, celery, and delicious fresh-pressed cider.  Additionally, people have asked about buying apple crates -- this Saturday they will be for sale for $4.00 each. These beautiful wooden crates are a deal, so come early and stake your claim!

At Holiday Market: Studio 617

It's a real treat to welcome Baltimore's Studio 617 back to Cheverly Community Market for Holiday Market! Bryan will have all the regular wonderful stuff -- sunflowers, dragonflies, butterflies, hummingbirds, fish, and silhouettes, including cats, flying pigs, and bats. He'll also have the seasonal items like Rudolph, snowmen, and gingerbread men. These pieces are wonderful additions to many homes in Cheverly -- and we hope yours, too! They also make great gifts, so make sure to stop by and visit Bryan this Saturday!

At Holiday Market: Lather Craft by Nelson Kelley

We're very pleased to welcome soapmaker Josh Kelley of Nelson Kelley to Holiday Market! His store, Lather Craft,  sells individually wrapped bars of vegan soap that will get you clean! This Saturday, in addition to their regular wonderful offerings, Lather Craft will feature five holiday-themed varieties -- what great stocking stuffers or small, thoughtful gifts!

At Holiday Market: Cakes by Ruthann

We're always thrilled to see Cakes by Ruthann at Cheverly Community Market -- there's always something tasty to eat. The only downside is exercising the willpower to not eat everything we buy before it even leaves the Market! This Saturday, stop by Cakes by Ruthann for super-delicious stocking stuffers like Jingle Balls (rum balls), holiday-inspired sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies, holiday-inspired chocolates, and Coconut Drops (coconut brittle). She'll also have pies and small decorated Jamaican black rum cakes, and Sorrel (the Caribbean holiday drink), Ginger beer, and Jamaican patties (beef, chicken, spinach) that make for a lovely early Market lunch.

Cheverly's Caitlin Adams collects, restores and upcycles vintage housewares and clothing into modern pieces for her company, Slippery Crockery. She sells online on indie favorite Etsy, as well as at local festivals and fairs (you may have come across her goods at Cheverly Day last summer!) We are asking you -- our wonderful Yard Sign Ambassadors -- to put up those yard signs one more time in 2012! Our annual Holiday Market is this Saturday, 9am to 1pm, in the Cheverly Community Center, and we don't want anyone to miss it. This is going to be a spectacular Market, with loads of food, friends, entertainment, and plenty of shopping opportunities for everyone!

Please put out those signs, then bring your friends, family, and neighbors out Saturday morning. We can't wait to share the final Market of 2012 with you, and celebrate the season at the same time!
