Community at the Market: CPRC School Supplies & Uniform Drive
Cheverly Community Market is a proud supporter of the Cheverly Parent Resource Center, a longtime Cheverly institution that does a great deal for good for families in our community. We were proud to host the CPRC Spellman school supplies drive at our July 27 market, and CPRC 2012-2013 Co-Chair Chase O’Brien shared this great news:
On behalf of the Cheverly Parents Resource Center, THANK YOU CHEVERLY!! In just one Community Market, we reached our goal for the Supplies for Spellman Project. Thanks to many generous people, we collected enough money to purchase all of the school supplies on our list. There will be many happy and prepared children on the first day of school.
Since many of you stopped by the CPRC table and asked if you can make a donation at the next market, we are going to continue our support for Spellman. We will use your donations to purchase uniforms. And YES! - we will continue to give away books in exchange for your donations. We will also have a bin to collect gently used uniforms! (Please click here for uniform details).
… Thanks for your support!
Thank you for being so generous -- this spirit of community is one of the very best things about Cheverly! Please stop by the CPRC table this Saturday and make a donation for uniforms for Spellman students. Cheverly has a great tradition of helping people in need, and this is a wonderful opportunity to get local kids of on the right foot this school year!

This week at the Market: Tasha's Cookies & Treats
We are big fans of the cakey cookies, brownies and other treats that Tasha's Cookies & Treats brings to us in her big truck with the pink flowers! The oatmeal raisin is wonderful -- moist and chewy with lots of flavor. Actually, truth be told, we haven't had a single cookie that we didn't enjoy from Tasha's. Come on over on Saturday morning and see what all the fuss is about -- you'll be glad you did!

It's time to get those yard signs out!
What amazing weather we're having -- really gets us in the mood for celebrating National Farmer's Market Week and all the great vendors, community groups, and musicians that will be with us this Saturday morning! Please get those yard signs out today and share your love of the Market with friends, neighbors, and everyone who travels through our community. As always, we appreciate your help in getting the word out.
Here's another way to support Cheverly Community Market: vote for us in the American Farmland Trust I Love My Farmer's Market 2013 competition -- all you have to do is pledge to spend at least $10 each week at the Market. Voting ends in early September and we're currently at #29 in the United States. Many, many thanks to everyone who has already voted!
We'll post stories throughout the week on all the great things you'll find this Saturday at the Market, so visit this blog often for the latest news. Need recipe inspiration or new techniques? Visit us on Pinterest -- we find recipes every day that make the most of the fresh, local, seasonal food you'll find at the Market!
We're looking forward to spending another terrific Saturday morning with you at Cheverly Community Market!
