This Week at the Market: Celebrate Maryland Wine Week!

As you know, Cheverly Community Market is a longtime supporter of local vinticulture, as the first farmer;s market in Maryland to host wineries and as a proponent of new state laws allowing increased selling opportunities for winereies at farmer's markets throughout the state. We're celebrating Maryland Wine Week with Elk Run Vineyards at Cheverly Community Market this Saturday! Elk Run, a longtime Market vendor, has visited us for seven years, and we're thrilled that they're joining us again this weekend. Elk Run, a Frederick County winery, nestled in the rolling hills in Mount Airy, will be visiting the Cheverly Farmers Market on June 15, August 10, and December 14.

Taking over 600 International, National, and Regional awards has made Elk Run not only one of the top 100 wineries on the east coast, but the most acclaimed winery in Maryland. In 2012, Elk Run won 10 Gold medals and 4 Gold 'Best of Class' in the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition. . . the first winery to have ever done so in the history of that competition.

Make sure to stop by and visit Bob Cecil this Saturday at Cheverly Community Market. Sample some of these very fine Maryland wines, stock up for your Father's Day celebrations and summer meals, and celebrate Maryland Wine Week!
