Make it a Maryland Christmas: Order your trees from Cheverly Community Market!
Make it a Maryland Christmas with beautiful local Christmas trees and celebrate local!
This year, we are again offering beautiful trees from Mayne’s Farm in Middletown, Maryland. We'll have a selection of fragrant traditional Douglas Firs, ranging from 6' to 8'. Proceeds benefit Cheverly Community Market and help us to prepare for our next season. We're proud to bring these trees to Cheverly and thank Megan Daly for helping us with this effort!
Douglas Firs (short needle)
6'-7' $45 (plus fee for prepaid credit orders)
7'-8' $55 (plus fee for prepaid credit orders)
Guarantee that you get one of these gorgoeus fresh trees by pre-ordering today! You can pre-order or reserve online via EventBrite. Pre-ordering and prepayment ensure that a tree will be ready for you any time during our Holiday Market on December 14 from 8am to noon. OR you can reserve a tree, which will allow you to pick up a tree from 8am to 11am on December 14 and pay for it at that time (cash, credit card, or check payable to Cheverly Community Market). Please note that your pre-paid credit card order includes a small handling fee to offset costs and support Cheverly Community Market's ongoing mission.
The last day to order trees is Friday, December 6. Any non-prepaid trees not picked up by 11am on December 14 are put up for general sale, first-come first-served.
Please make sure to print out and bring your receipt with you to Holiday Market on Saturday, December 14, at the Cheverly Community Center.
Thank you for supporting Cheverly Community Market!
Thank you!
Thank you all for an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving Market on Saturday -- we had great vendors, and volunteers, great music, great crowds -- and we heard many times that this was, perhaps, our best Market yet. We're inclined to agree!
Congratulations to our three raffle basket winners: Ann Barsi, Mrs. Mohindra, and Wendy Shenk-Evans -- our vendors were very generous in their donations and these baskets were fantastic. In fact, Ann Barsi sent us this effusive email:
WOW! Was I a big winner!! Just as we got home from stocking up on all manner of goodies at the Thanksgiving Market, I got a phone call saying we'd won BASKET #1 in the raffle. I couldn't believe all of the amazing things tucked into that winning basket.....
- $10 gift certificate for the next market
- 1 quart Simple Pleasures Ice Cream certificate
- Bottle of Cygnus wine
- Bar of Black Diamond Soap from Essential Reign
- Tin of Organic Shea Butter
- Fresh apples and squash
- Big bag of Moctec Chips
- Silver Earrings
- Hand-made Ceramic dish from Madeleine Golde
- Baby Boppy from Stefanie Krimsky
- 2 jars of Martha's Jams
- Fresh Collard and Tomato Bruschetta from Gone Greens
- Ceramic Mexican Ornament from New Starts Farm
- Community Market Shopping Bag
- Handled Fruit Basket
Even by a conservative estimate, that's over $120 worth of goodies for the price of a raffle ticket. All of these gifts were donated by the loyal vendors to promote our Cheverly Community Market. I know I need to thank each and every one of them for making our town's market so special. If you haven't supported the Market by getting a raffle ticket before, make sure you do next time - you too might be the big winner!!
Ann BarsiWe'll have another raffle at our Holiday Market on December 14 -- make sure to enter!
We're still taking orders for Maryland Christmas trees from Mayne's Farm -- you may order and pay online via EventBrite (you may also reserve via EventBrite and pay at the Market on December 14). The deadline is Friday, December 6, so place your order today!
Again, many thanks for a spectacular market -- we're already working on our Holiday Market (December 14) and will have lots of news to share with you over the coming weeks. In the meantime, Cheverly Community Market wishes you and yours a very happy, healthy Thanksgiving (and safe travels for those of you leaving Cheverly). We are honored to be part of this great community.

Our BIG Thanksgiving Market Lineup
Find the best local ingredients for your holiday table or for the journey to someone else's table, and make a big dent in your holiday shopping lists at the same time. We also think of ourselves as Cheverly's neighborhood coffee house -- grab a coffee and some breakfast, then spend time chatting with friends and neighbors as you listen to great live local music. Come to think of it, that's better than a coffee shop!
Don't forget to visit the Cheverly Community Market table to order your fresh Maryland Christmas tree, buy Market gift certificates or logo bags, enter our gift basket raffle, or make a contribution to our Gigi Fund. Of course, you can always just stop by and say hello to our board members -- they want to hear from you!

CPRC Storytime at 10am
We are thankful for so much at this time of year. For family, for friends. For our health, for our homes. For wonderful food and a great neighborhood. At Cheverly Community Market, we are especially thankful for our wonderful community: our long-term vendors who bring amazing things to us at every market, our occasional vendors who bring us special treats, our many volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the season (and off-season, too!), to the Town of Cheverly for continuing to support this growing concern, and to everyone who comes out and shows their support by attending, promoting and purchasing goods. Cheverly Community Market is, truly, a community endevour. We are so very grateful to all of you.
Please come visit and support your friends and extended Cheverly family this Saturday at our Thanksgiving Market. We're looking forward to seeing you -- and sharing part of this pre-holiday weekend with you -- at Cheverly Community Market this Saturday, 8am to noon at the Cheverly Community Center.

Thanksgiving Market: Profusions of Glass
A very popular vendor with Cheverly Community Market's Thanksgiving and Holiday Markets for the past several years, we're always interested in the beautiful items and craftsmanship we find at Profusions of Glass. Make sure to stop by and meet Tina, and find really gorgeous gifts -- or treat yourself -- this holiday season!
Thanksgiving Market: C&JD's Stand

We have a great suggestion: a hot, delicious meal from Bowie's C&JD's Stand.

Italian Sausages
Half Smokes
Hot dogs
Dinners (barbeque or pulled chicken with macaroni and cheese and a vegetable)
Hamburgers
Bean Soup
Coffee, tea, hot chocolate
This was soooo good!

Thanksgiving Market: Night Night
Night Night, the brainchild of Cheverly's Stefanie Krimsky, will be selling handmade stuffed toys and loveys for nighttime cuddling. Made from soft fleece with ribbon accents and jingle bells, the toys are both adorable and engaging. She will also be selling wooden Cheverly ornaments that she and her husband handcraft. The ornaments depict the Cheverly sign and are handpainted and accented with snow and wreath details for the Christmas season... Why not make a special Cheverly gift this year for your favorite Cheverly resident by pairing a Cheverly ornament with a Cheverly Community Market gift certificate? What a good idea!
Thanksgiving Market: Cheverly Boy Scout Troop 257
We can think of very few decorations that hearken the holidays quite like gorgeous fresh green wreaths and lush poinsettias. Cheverly Boy Scout Troop 257 will be selling beautiful locally grown poinsettias, wreaths, greenery, and other items at Thanksgiving Market this Saturday. Pick up a few poinsettias and wreaths to adorn your home or give as very special, natural gifts.

That is dedication.

This Saturday, stock up on wonderful fresh produce from Benny's Fruit Stand/Rebert Farm. Thanksgiving Market: Pottery by Lee Dickenson
Potter Lee Dickenson lives nearby in Brentwood, Maryland, and has been a potter for about 10 years. She works out of the Glen Echo Pottery Studio, in addition to working on a pottery wheel in her own home. It's a kick wheel, which Lee is convinced provides her with needed exercise. Pottery at Glen Echo is high fired to a temperature of about 2300 degrees fahrenheit. It's food safe, and dishwasher safe.
Make sure to stop by and shop with Lee this Saturday at Thanksgiving Market -- she has beautiful, one-of-a-kind work that will be enhance your table (or a very lucky gift recipient's home) for years to come! Lee's wheel thrown pottery is both functional and decorative. Fired in earth tones, the glazes are food safe, and the pieces can be put in the dishwasher or microwave.
