Special Market Message: Gisela Lombardo -- Gigi's Quilts

UPDATE: We are very pleased to tell you that Gigi will be with us this Saturday. She will be selling the lovely things she's created, including table runners, placemats, potholders, crocheted baby booties, bags and other items.
We are sad to share the news that longtime Market vendor and friend Gisela Lombardo of Gigi's Quilts was recently diagnosed with Stage Four Lung and Brain Cancer and since last attending the Market in September, she has undergone brain surgery. Gigi is keeping in good spirits. She vows to fight as hard as she can for her girls and granddaughters, and asks that we all keep the family in our thoughts and prayers.

Several of the farmer's markets that Gigi has sold at over the years have done benefits for the Lombardo family to help with everyday incidentals and travel costs from South Carolina for children and grandchildren to come home to Maryland and spend time together. Cheverly Community Market is joining in this effort by collecting funds at the Market table on November 23. Please consider contributing what you can -- without health insurance and a steady income, these times are terribly stressful to even healthy people.

Gigi tells us that she's always loved being part of Cheverly Community Market, and that it's really hard for for her to reach out because she's never had to ask anybody for help with anything. We know that she's part of our Market family, and want to aid her family at this time. We are grateful to any and all who wish to make a contribution on November 23, and will make sure that all money, cards, and wishes reach Gigi right away.

Our hearts are with Gigi and the entire family at this time.
