At the Market This Week: Benny's Fruit Stand/Reberts Farm

Have you noticed that when you get apples fresh from a farmer or directly from the trees in an orchard, they taste completely different from the apples you pick up at the grocery store? The deeper flavors, wider variety and extra time that these apples spend on the trees make them really special. They can't be beat.

We're especially lucky to have the Reberts with us. They bring an amazing array of apple varieties to us (as well as onions, pears, and potatoes in the fall; peaches, plums, and more in the warmer months) and we learn more about the different fruits available to us every time we visit at the Market.

This week, the Reberts are bringing those luscious apples as well as winter squash, fresh pressed cider, and some decorative pumpkins. Make sure to stock up for late autumn meals and healthy snacks!
