Buy Local Challenge Pledge? We started with a
fantastic field trip on July 21 to
UnionMarket DC where we tasted amazing compressed watermelon, local pickles and oysters, and a whole lot more. This week, we'll be using local ingredients to make our meals and trying some new (to us) preparations, like grilled canteloupe with goat cheese and a sprinkle of fresh mint, or blackened tomatoes atop basil and marinated eggplant. It's a great week to challenge yourself -- expand your palette and your cooking skills!
