This Week at the Market: KidMarket

We love our KidMarket! From yoga to making bird feeders to planting sunflower seeds to hula hooping, KidMarket Coordinator Rachel Dabney Rice has put together some great activities for kids of all ages (in addition to the many kids having a ball, we recall quite a few dads making bird feeders and more than a few moms hula hooping...) This week, KidMarket is all about bees with Buzz, Buzz, Busy Bee! At 10:00am, join Eileen Shlagel of Shlagel Farms will be leading a bee-inspired Nature Class.  Eileen will reveal the secret world of bees to the kids, who can inspect a real bee hive and see what really goes on. Cheverly resident Patty King will read a fascinating book on bees and each child we be given a yummy honey stick treat. Please look for us on the front steps of the community center.

At 10:30, everyone -- young and young at heart -- is invited to  get their buzzies out with a fun and fast-paced mini-Zumba class lead by Ronald Johnson. Ronald is a well-known Zumba instructor in Cheverly and leads the Tuesday morning class at the Community Center. 

As always, KidMarket events are FREE and sure to entertain. This weekend promises to provide some relief from the oppressive heat: perfect weather for some fun outdoor activities! We hope to see you all there.
