We cannot say thank you enough for coming out this weekend to Cheverly Community Market! Through the excessive heat, area-wide power outages, water restrictions, trees down...you made it and we thank you! All in all, it was a lovely Market and we hope that you had as good a time as we did. Some things we really loved: watching the community come together to get match residents with electricity and fridge space to those without (thanks to Laila Riazi and Mike Callahan for putting that plan into action!), being able to thank the Public Works crews for coming out and taking care of the town again this weekend (thanks to MJ Coolen and Monica Mohindra for getting a Market basket full of food down to the crew), to the Ladies of Charity for making lots of extra coffee and to St. Ambrose for chipping in with ice. This spirit of coming together, especially under adverse circumstances, makes Cheverly a very special place, and we are so very grateful to be part of it. We have photos up on our flickr page -- it was a beautiful morning and there was a lot of wonderful food to be had. (I'm eating an amazing apricot as I type this!)
We hope that you have power again and that your homes are safe and free from storm debris. Let's enjoy the best parts of summer and continue to work together when things aren't so good. Wishing you all a safe, happy, and god-food-filled Independence Day!
