The Prince George’s Master Gardeners are volunteers with the University of Maryland Extension who have a common interest in gardening. The Master Gardeners receive 45 hours of training in a variety of subjects such as botany, soils, composting, plant diseases, pruning, herbs, houseplants, turf grass management, pruning, plant propagation, and vegetable gardening. Each Master Gardener has to complete 40 or more hours of education outreach and community service each year to maintain their status of being a Master Gardener.
This week, the Master Gardeners will be holding a ‘Plant Clinic’ to try to identify causes of diseased or damaged plants and answer people’s questions about gardening topics.
