We just love it when we hear from our vendors about what they'll be bringing to Cheverly for each Market. Some are very straightforward (a list) and some very descriptive (verging on poetry). Our favorites are the prose-style entries. They really capture the personalities of the people who write them and the places they come from. Today, we share Laurie Waltz's correspondence:
This time of year makes me want to fire up my grill ! The hard part is deciding what to cook. We have some real nice T-Bones steaks cut a little thick for great grilling and some tender juicy Delmonico steaks that make my mouth water. Or treat yourself to Lamb chops. Easy to grill, add a meat rub with dill, rosemary, garlic, S & P and a dash of cayenne if you like a little kick! We just brought back some ham steaks, cured nitrate-free, pork chops and ribs, and pork tenderloin, they'll go fast! For a nice Sunday meal, pick up a fresh cured ham and pair it up with new red potatoes and greens. Don't forget to stock up on hot dogs as well. We have pork hot dogs stuffed with cheddar cheese, they are fat and juicy! Also have beef hot dogs that are nitrate free. These are good boiled with sauerkraut and topped with onion and peppers! Gosh, now I'm hungry!
See you on Saturday,
Laurie Waltz
We agree, Laurie. And we're hungry, too! Make sure to stop by and visit the
Waltz Family Farm tent at Cheverly Community Market this Saturday. Stock up on grilling favorites, plus something special for your Sunday dinner.
